Welcome To Frontier Harvest Ministries
Love and greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ, Lord of the Harvest. On this web site I share my heart and vision for serving the Lord Jesus Christ and the people whom He has called me to minister.
In order to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in short-term missions and to pioneer Frontier Harvest Ministries of Ford City, Pennsylvania, I left the Assemblies of God denomination December 31, 2003 after overseeing their churches in Ford City and Connellsville for 16 years. My ministry credential and church affiliation are now with Frontier Harvest Ministries of Oakmont, Pennsylvania, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt religious organization.
Frontier Harvest Ministries of Ford City, Pennsylvania is a simple, local church that emphasizes short-term missions. Our priorities: worship God in Spirit and Truth, evangelize non-Christians, and make disciples of all believers. Two house churches are the foundation of this ministry in Ford City and Sarver Pennsylvania. We are devoted to the Word of God, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. Our tithes and offerings support missions, not church buildings.
I have served as the pastor of seven both non-denominational and Assemblies of God churches in Pennsylvania for 35 years in Ford City, Kittanning, Connellsville, and Dawson. I will have also served overseas in 34 different nations on 86 short-term ministry trips between 1984 and the end of 2010. My calling is to lead Christians into Spiritual maturity according to Ephesians 4:11-16, as well as to serve the poor, indigenous church on several continents while on my short-term ministry assignments.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support. God bless!

Strategy for Missions in Developing Nations
By Chuck King
The
unmet, basic needs among the poor in the developing nations are
incredible. The desperation among poor believers in these nations has
motivated them to look outside of their borders to richer believers in
other nations to provide relief. Yet the priority responsibility
remains within these poor nations to reach their own people. There are
too few outside benefactors to meet these needs! So the culture and
mindset of Christians in these nations must change.
The New
Testament makes it clear that even poor believers in Jesus Christ in
that first century gave generously and sacrificially to meet the needs
of poorer believers, both locally and internationally. One of Paul’s
international mission projects was to passionately gather offerings
from churches from several regions of the world to relieve the poor
believers in Jerusalem. And the desperately poor from Macedonia were
among the first to give! In Acts, those who had more material blessings
helped those in need. This kind of sacrificial giving had much to do
with growing the first century church.
Yet my personal travels
within the developing nations in this century have proven to me that
the church has lost this vision for sacrificial giving. As I teach and
preach God’s Word in churches and conferences overseas, the fact is
that many, many Christians (many of these are pastors and leaders) are
not giving their tithes and offerings. I call these believers to
repentance in every place I go! So these believers have simply
justified their positions that they can’t afford to give, for they are
poor. Let the rich man give instead!
Yet the Word of God is
clear and needs to be applied to every believer---rich or poor. Unless
the poor believer is faithful to bring his tithes and offerings to the
Lord for the Biblical purposes of supporting workers in the harvest and
serving the poor, God’s blessings will not be poured out upon him. It
is that simple! If you expect to have an inheritance in Heaven, you
must invest your own talents. You cannot expect another to do it for
you. My giving will not cause you to grow your Heavenly treasure---only
your own giving will count. And this is not measured in the total
amounts you give, but according to your ability and sacrifice.
So
this is what I have been preaching, but few are listening. Yet let’s do
the math: If a Kenyan believer lives on about $100 USD (about 7,500
shillings) per month, his tithe will be $10 (750 ksh), and add another
$1 (75 ksh) for an offering for the poor. So if we use the $1 for a plastic biosand filter for the poor, every 25 believers can provide a Sawyer
filter each month for a poor family. So there is enough money from
every 10 families in Kenya from their tithes and offerings to fully
support the NEEDS of one worker going to the harvest and also help to provide
one poor family with a plastic biosand filter ($25 is our cost for one filter). But even if you
dispute the monthly income figure I have used above, the message
remains the same. Just multiply the number of families needed---10, 15,
20, or even 30. You will still be able to make a huge difference in the
Kingdom without looking to “rich men” to provide the funds!
So,
please, please, stop expecting the rich to meet the needs of the poor
in your nation. Personally, if I waited for the rich to help me before
I did my work in missions, I would do very, very little! So I must
trust the Lord to raise up support from many, many people with average
incomes---not a rich man. So you can do the same thing, but you need to
get your mind renewed to understand these principles. And the New
Testament is the place you must go to get your education. So stop
expecting someone else to provide the funds---do everything you can
among yourselves. God will bless you and expand your ministry as you
are faithful to do so.
